Collage Design by Matija Drozdek

Matija Drozdek is a skilled graphic designer from Osijek, Croatia that has a strong passion for visual art and photography.  He's currently studying information design at the Polytechnicum in Zagreb, and has had much of his work published.  Really liking the geometric and abstract approach he took in creating his collage set to create some ultimately surreal and striking visuals.  Also our first post on a designer from Croatia.

Glitch Photography by Geso

Geso is Pablo Iglesias Algoras aka Mr. Glitch--an art director, photographer, illustrator, video artist, graphic designer, and partycrasher.  Based in Berlin, Germany, Pablo has created a pretty phenomenal effect using his broken Sony DSC-T3 digital camera.  He calls it glitch photography.  No photoshop.  No filters.  Just glitch photography.  He's experimented with landscapes, buildings, animals, geometric shapes, and has even designed some of his glitch photography.  Inspirational to say the least for him to be able to create such amazing images with his broken camera.

Geometric Pattern Wallpapers for iPad by Simon Page

Simon Page created a bunch of really great geometric pattern wallpapers for the newest (3rd generation) iPad. The wallpapers look great on the new retina screen. This is the first iPad I’ve owned and I’m blown away by the quality and the actual device itself. Can’t wait to work on apps for the iPad. Definitely will be looking for an iOS developer in the next two months.

Abstraction by Atelier Olschinsky

Atelier Olschinsky is a multi-disciplinary creative design studio based in Vienna, Austria started by Peter Olschinsky and Verena Weiss.  I selected some pieces from their collection of work that best represents their linear abstract geometric style.  These go really deep with detail, and feel subtly complex at the same time.

"It's just so important to work as much as you can, to learn and to be open to new things.  The journey is the award."

Geometric Illustration by Justin Mezzell

Justin Mezzell’s geometric illustrations are fantastic. His pieces of work that include architecture, have that warm, muted color scheme reflective of a mid-century modern vibe. Also if you look closely in this image, you can see two Eames Lounge Chairs by the window.

Geometrics by Simek

Cris Tzaferos, who goes by the moniker Simek, is a graphic designer from Athens, Greece who discloses very little about himself in his bio.  Picked out some of these posters which I thought were pretty well-designed--in a way they feel contemporary and tribal to say the least.

Anamorphic Illusions

Paul Wackers

I’m really digging the often surreal, always vibrantly colorful and playfully geometric paintings of Paul Wackers.

From his artist’s statement: “My work is first a response to the world and then a reaction to what it has to offer. Images surround me as abstract concepts, presented by the curious interaction of forms, feelings, and situations. They offer a glimpse into the way the world is constantly being reloaded with opportunities and options for reinterpretations and impressions. It might start with a beam of light passing through a window in the afternoon and that within that beam there is the potential of a full spectrum to appear. In my paintings I try to create the feeling of getting lost in the thoughts that are easily ignored or put aside.”

Geometric Folklore by Alejandra Huerta

These are some select pieces from Alejandra Huerta's Geometric Folklore sets.  Based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, he is a graphic designer/illustrator that can really work in some nice angularities and colorways in an almost contemporary-modern-tribal kind of way.

1960s Lark Cigarette Packaging

For such a self destructive product, the packaging design is rather good. It was originally designed by George Tscherny for Lark Cigarettes in 1968. For designs like this it would be interesting to see before and after sales among other things to figure out why the design style never stuck.

Andy Gilmore Geometric Patterns

Andy Gilmore is a master of geometric patterns and composition. His work is unique and quite stimulating. Describing it however is somewhat difficult considering I haven’t yet figured out meaning behind each. Though it’s rather easy to appreciate every one of his pieces solely based on the visual qualities.

Radiant Geometric Posters from Dan Reisinger

Taking in the graphical design work of the Israel based Dan Reisinger is almost like savoring the time in reading those short books with lots of cool and vivid illustrations right before bed when you were a kid.  His taste in visuals is very fun to look at, and has a really great use of simplicity and geometry in creating clean looking design.  Born in Yugoslavia and raised in Israel, he comes from a strong painting background and joined the air force before joining the design team at Israeli Pavilion later on in his career.

Stimulating Geometrics by Simon Page

Checking back up on Simon Page is anything but what I expected, and nothing near ordinary.  He continues to do what he does best, that being geometrically expressive design.  He really excels at creating complex and vivid imagery through abstract shapes and repetition.  I can only imagine the kind of thought process you would have in coming up with designs like these.  He never ceases to amaze, and you can tell that he's constantly pushing his limits as a graphic designer to produce that sense of stimulation between the viewer and his designs.  Also threw in some of his sci-fi film posters as well as a bonus.

 "Good design excites."

Geometric Animals by Luis Domingo

Thought these geometric animal renditions by Luis Domingo deserved a second look, and maybe a cartoon series.
